Inskill Jobs — Job Seeker Demo Guide

Here is  full walkthrough — step by step

Step 1 — Registration

Go to Inskill.in/job-portal/job-seeker/register.php

Show: Name, email, phone, password — then the key question: “Are you a VLSIGuru Student?”

  • If Yes → asks for enrollment month/year, and the system cross-checks the email against the LMS database before allowing registration to complete.
  • If No → registers immediately as an external candidate, no verification needed.

“Registration takes under a minute. If you tell us you’re a VLSIGuru student, we verify that against our own training records automatically — you don’t need to upload any proof.”

If VLSIGuru = Yes, immediately after registering, mention: “Behind the scenes, we just pulled your education, skills, past company, achievements, and even your LinkedIn/GitHub links straight from your student record — you don’t start from a blank profile.” (This is the LMS auto-import — genuinely saves re-typing.)

Step 2 — The Dashboard (first thing they see after login)

Point out, in this order:

  1. Profile completion banner (“Your profile is % complete… Complete profile to unlock your auto-generated resume”)
  2. Quick action tiles: Browse Jobs, My Profile, My Applications, Settings
  3. Stat tiles: Applications count, Shortlisted count, Profile Complete %
  4. Recent Applications table (job title, company, date, status badge)
  5. Recommended For You — jobs filtered to match their preferred category, so it isn’t a generic list

“Everything about your job search — status, recommendations, what’s left to do — is on one screen the moment you log in.”

(Skip: “Saved Jobs,” “Profile Views,” “Interviews,” “Messages” tiles — these are explicitly marked “Coming soon” in the product, don’t promise them.)

Step 3 — Building the Profile

job-seeker profile tab— walk through the sections in this order (it’s the actual completion order the system checks):

  1. Basic Details — photo, gender, current city, hometown, regional languages, current activity, profile summary
  2. Qualification — 10th/12th/diploma, highest qualification, branch, degree college + percentage + year, and (if applicable) postgrad details
  3. General Terms, Conditions & Work — fresher/experienced status, PF account status, bond agreement, document submission readiness, immediate joining
  4. Job Preference (Location Based) — three ranked location preferences, or “I am ready to relocate”
  5. Online Profiles — LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio links
  6. Projects & Skills — project title/description/tools, technical skills, AI skills (separate tag list)
  7. Performance (VLSIGuru students only, optional for external candidates) — enrolled course, training completion status, and a genuinely useful bit: you can schedule a mock interview right here — Google Meet, Monday–Saturday 4:30–6:00 PM, booked directly from the profile.

“This isn’t just data entry — you can book a real mock interview slot from inside your profile, no separate email or call needed.”

Step 4 — The Resume (this usually gets the best reaction)

Click through to your job-seeker resume.

“You never manually build a resume here — it’s generated automatically from everything you just filled in.”

Point out:

  • Clean, printable, single-page layout with a “Print / Save as PDF” button
  • VLSIGuru-branded watermark and footer (address, phone, email) — looks professional, not DIY
  • Every section only appears if there’s real content (no empty “Hobbies: —” lines)
  • It’s gated at 50% profile completion — below that, clicking Resume redirects back to the profile with a “resume locked” message.

“This is a built-in nudge — the platform won’t hand you a half-empty resume. It pushes you to finish your profile first, which protects your own credibility with recruiters.”

Step 5 — Browsing & Filtering Jobs

jobs.php

  • Search by keyword (title/skills/company), location, and category (VLSI Front End, Back End, Embedded, SoC Design, Protocols, DFT, Low Power, Scripting)
  • Clicking “View Job” opens a modal (no page reload) with the full breakdown: pay structure, service bond terms, document requirements, interview process (rounds, type, mode, online-interview availability), and point of contact.

Show the contrast here if you have both test logins: log in as the external candidate and reload — company name and location are replaced with “Hidden — upgrade to view.” Log in as the VLSIGuru student and reload the same listing — full details appear.

“Every job listing is fully transparent about pay structure, bond terms, and interview process upfront — no surprises after applying.”

Step 6 — Applying

Still inside the job modal:

  • A required checkbox: “I agree with the company’s terms and conditions” — the Apply button stays disabled until it’s checked.
  • One click after that — no separate form, no re-entering your details (it’s already tied to your profile).
  • If already applied to that job, the button shows “Already Applied” instead, so there’s no accidental double-apply.

“Applying is one click because your profile already has everything a recruiter needs — you’re not filling out the same information over and over for every job.”

(Reminder: this button is only live for VLSIGuru-verified accounts — external accounts see the upgrade prompt instead, as covered in §1.)

Step 7 — Tracking Applications

Job-seeker – my-applications

A table of every job applied to: title, company, location, date applied, and a status badge — Applied → Shortlisted → Rejected/Hired.

“You always know exactly where you stand with every application, without needing to follow up by email.”

Step 8 — Privacy: what recruiters can and can’t see about you

This is a genuine differentiator worth its own beat in the demo — open a resume link as a recruiter test account if you have one, or just explain it:

  • Your email and phone are masked (“Hidden for privacy” / partially starred phone number) to any recruiter until you’ve actually applied to one of their job postings, or your profile has crossed 80% completion.
  • Once masked contact unlocks (by applying), it only unlocks for that recruiter, not to every recruiter on the platform.

“Your contact details aren’t broadcast to every company on the platform. A recruiter only sees your real phone and email once you’ve chosen to apply to their specific job — you’re always the one initiating contact, not the other way around.”

Step 9 — Getting Discovered Without Applying

Worth mentioning even though it’s recruiter-side: once a profile crosses 80% completion, that candidate becomes visible in recruiters’ searchable Candidates list — meaning recruiters can find and reach out to strong profiles proactively, even before the candidate applies anywhere.

“A complete profile doesn’t just help you apply faster — it puts you in front of recruiters who are actively searching, even if you haven’t applied to their job yet.”

Step 10 — Notifications & Settings

Two toggles, both opt-in:

  • Application status updates — emailed when a recruiter shortlists/rejects/hires you
  • New job matches — emailed when a new posting matches your saved location preference

Plus a simple password-change form.

“You choose what you get emailed about — nothing is forced, and you’re never left wondering if something happened without checking back manually.”

5. Quick-reference feature checklist (for you, not the audience)

Use this to make sure you didn’t skip anything:

  •  Registration + VLSIGuru email verification
  •  LMS auto-import (VLSIGuru students only)
  •  Dashboard overview (stats, recommendations, recent applications)
  •  Profile — all 7 sections, especially the mock interview scheduler
  •  Profile completion logic (weighted, not just field-count)
  •  Auto-generated resume (+ 50% lock, + Print/Save PDF)
  •  Job search + filters + detail modal
  •  VLSIGuru vs external gating (company/location hidden, Apply blocked)
  •  One-click apply + terms checkbox + duplicate-apply protection
  •  My Applications + status tracking
  •  Contact privacy/masking until applied or 80% complete
  •  Recruiter discoverability at 80%+ completion
  •  Notification preferences + password change

6. Likely questions and how to answer them

  • “Does it cost anything for job seekers?” → No — registering, building a profile, and browsing is free for everyone. Applying is included automatically for VLSIGuru students as part of enrollment.
  • “Can I apply if I’m not a VLSIGuru student?” → Not directly today — you can register, build a full profile, and even show up to recruiters searching candidates, but the Apply button itself is reserved for verified students. Framing: “enroll to unlock full access.”
  • “What happens to my phone number/email?” → Masked from every recruiter by default; only revealed to a recruiter once you apply to their specific posting (or your profile passes 80%).
  • “Can recruiters see my resume before I apply?” → Only if your profile is 80%+ complete or you’ve applied to one of their jobs — same gating as contact details.
  • “Is there a mobile app?” → No — it’s a responsive website, works on mobile browsers.
  • “Can I withdraw an application?” → Not currently — there’s no withdraw/delete action today, so don’t promise it.

7. Do’s and don’ts while presenting

  • Do show the VLSIGuru-vs-external contrast live if you can — it’s the single most convincing “aha” moment.
  • Do lead with the resume generation — it’s the most visually impressive, tangible output.
  • Don’t promise “Saved Jobs,” “Profile Views,” “Interview scheduling with recruiters,” or “Messages” as available — they’re explicitly placeholder tiles marked “Coming soon.”
  • Don’t claim job seekers can withdraw an application or edit it after submission — that flow doesn’t exist.
  • Don’t oversell “AI Skills” as an AI-powered feature — it’s simply a separate tagged skills list for AI-related tools, not an AI matching engine.
